Trip to Sri Paadaya

Watch a spectacular sunrise from the peak

With a height of 7360 ft Adam’s peak is ranked as the 4th in the list of highest mountains in Sri Lanka. And also it can be introduced as the most remarkable mountain. This mountain is also known as “Sri Pada’’ because of the sacred foot print it holds.

Legend has it that the footprint was made by the Lord Buddha, on his 3rd and final visit to Sri Lanka. Belief of Muslims is that, it is the footprint of Adam. Hindus believe that it is the footprint of Lord Shiva. Christians believe that it belongs to St. Thomas the Apostle.

In early in the morning you can experience a beautiful sunrise from the top of the mountain. You will get to see a spectacular view of the golden sun rays that touches the peak and the surrounding clouds. This place can be considered as a symbol of harmony as pilgrims with different beliefs join together for one journey.

Ratnapura route, Kuruwita route and Hatton route are the three routes you can take. During this journey to the top of the mountain you will see some beautiful waterfalls. “Seetha Gangula” is the place where pilgrims take a cool bath and prepare them selves to this sacred journey.

“Trips Lanka” begins this journey a few hours before dawn as that will give us chance to enjoy the sunrise and descend on the same day. There’s no doubt, this journey will surely give you a great experience.
